Relax, recharge and reset.
In 2018, Rom and Katie Lamaro, along with their three children, moved into a beautiful five-acre block on Mchaffies Lane in Ventnor, Phillip Island. Since purchasing the land, they have transformed what was a rundown property into a picturesque and functioning micro-farm.
The fully enclosed orchard now has over 90 fruit and nut trees and the extensive vegetable gardens will provide abundant produce over the coming years. The chickens, goats, sheep and two highland cows are beautiful pets and play a crucial role in creating nutrient-rich compost using permaculture practices to grow organic, nutrient-dense food for our family and in time the local community.
Rom and Katie installed an impressive 9.5kw solar system, a worm farm septic system, and rainwater tanks that fill all animal troughs, irrigate the orchard and vegetable gardens, working towards a more sustainable property for the future.
From Five Acres, immerse yourself in all the Island has to offer, including nature park attractions, the world-famous penguin parade, wineries, coastal walks and stunning array of beaches. Or if you wish, simply hide away in your own private sanctuary.
We can’t wait to welcome you,
Katie and Rom
